A recipient of President Barack Obama’s Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence has pledged to work with Nigeria’s president wife, Aisha Buhari to sustain the ‘Next Level’ agenda of President Muhammadu Buhari sworn-in May 29 for a second term.

Dr. Queen Blessing Itua stated her commitment in Atlanta, Georgia on Thursday as she congratulated Mrs. Buhari.

“Rest assured that my team and I are strategically poised to ignite and support the ‘Next Level’ agenda to optimize human capital and infrastructure capacity in Nigeria,” Itua said in a press release.

She assured the first lady of her support and commitment to the education and well-being of Nigerian women and children.

“It is my earnest desire to support you in sustaining discourses against the phenomenon of women subjugation and human trafficking which will greatly impact on your development effort,” said Itua.

GEM honored Buhari in 2018 with the Most Distinguished Global Award for Excellence in Women Empowerment and Gender Development during the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

As a UN-recognised international adviser and community development and gender equalization advocate, Itua sits atop a number of NGOs, including GEM USA and Blessings of Africa Foundation.

Her book, We Are the Blessings of Africa: Reshaping Our Greatness Together, was launched on the sideline of the United Nations summit last year.
