Chair of the African Union Sixth Region USA, Dr. Queen Blessing Itua celebrates GLOBAL AFRICA DAY in Canada with the African Union Commissioner, Directors from the Headquarters-Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; African Union Sixth Region Canada; etc.

The African Union sixth Canada family welcomes Dr. Queen Blessing Itua, Chair of the African Union Sixth Region USA to the annual African Union Sixth Region Canada Flag Raising event on May 23, 2019 at Queen’s Park, Toronto.

African Day celebration continued till May 25 – the usual day for the African Day celebration with LEADERSHIP BREAKFAST to celebrate Diaspora heritage and culture. The event recognizes and celebrates the tenacity and triumphs of people of African Descent and their contribution to the advancement of humanity and the building of nations; as well as highlight and promote the goals and objectives of the African Union through the eight commissions.

Dr. Queen Blessing was also a Panelist at the Leadership Breakfast.

It was indeed a wonderful experience to be a part of the Africa Day Celebration this year in Canada; which took place on May 23-25, celebration started in Toronto, continued in Ottawa with the Diplomats and back to Ontario. Africa Day celebration is the time Africans in Diaspora come together to celebrate our African heritage and Culture. It was a blessing to witness the flag raising at the Queen’s Park in Toronto and to be a Speaker at this special event.

The African Union Commissioner was the keynote speaker and she was simply amazing – the #AU Commissioner for Human Resources, Science and Technology, H.E Prof. Sarah Anyang Agbor.
